Papillon Center for Loss and Transition is pleased to announce that our ADULT DROP-IN GROUPS, GOOD GRIEF FOR KIDS + TEENS and MADISON ROSE MEMORIAL LIBRARY have transferred to Coastal Kids Home Care, effective 1/1/21. With expertise in pediatric palliative and end-of-life care and bereavement support, Coastal Kids understands that children and adults at any age and stage of grief should have access to professional, compassionate services. With our missions aligned to ensure the sustainability of bereavement services in Monterey County and neighboring counties, Papillon and Coastal Kids are working together to seamlessly unite.

Papillon Center for Loss and Transition is also grateful to have found a new home for our PET BEREAVEMENT PROGRAM which has been integrated into BirchBark Foundation’s Pet Loss and Grief Program, effective 11/5/20. BirchBark partners with veterinarians to help save pets lives during medical emergencies when their owners are unable to fully afford the necessary critical care and provides a holistic approach to comforting pet families through financial, educational and emotional support. BirchBark is ensuring that those grieving the immense loss of a beloved pet will continue to receive caring, compassionate and professional support.

Coastal Kids Home Care improves the quality of life for children healing from injury or short-term illness, coping with chronic conditions or developmental delays, and those facing the end-of-life. Our staff provides in-home nursing, specialized therapies, social services and bereavement counseling to support the whole family.

Our groups are focused to meet particular needs in your grief journey, any time you need support. All groups are facilitated by professionals with expertise in grief, and all are free.


Good Grief for Kids and Teens helps kids and teens know you are not alone and  gives you the tools you need to process grief through art, storytelling and sharing.
