Willow Aray grew up in North Carolina and in the rugged mountains of Colorado. She moved to Monterey in 2009 to pursue her MPA from the Monterey Institute of International Studies where she studied International Development, Global Policy, Non-profit Management and French. Passionate about social justice, she has been serving Monterey County’s most vulnerable populations for the past ten years, always utilizing a healing-informed approach when addressing systemic inequities that cause individual and societal trauma. This heartfelt work inspired Willow to more fully engage in her own journey of healing from loss and navigating transition as she came to recognize theses times as not only difficult and isolating but truly sacred as well. As the Executive Director of Papillon, she is honored to stand guard over those profoundly transitional experiences that leave us forever changed.
She spends her free time creating art, training her dog, dancing, playing her Ukulele, raising her son and exploring all the vast and beautiful landscapes that California has to offer.
Jeanne, a life-long resident of the Monterey Bay area, joined Papillon Center in 2017 as an Administrative Assistant, with her primary focus on design, social media and marketing. She brings with her many talents, experience and a heart for Papillon’s mission.
When she isn’t working she enjoys creating art, West Coast swing and Country dancing, and is an avid whale-watching enthusiast. She is currently working on earning her Certified Zentangle Teacher credentials later this summer. Most of all she loves spending time with friends and family, and is enjoying her best job ever as Gramma to her first grandchild, Mason!
